Questions
Frequently asked questions.
The selective beta, what is in a track, how we compare to Anki, and why nothing you do can touch a real patient.
Access and the beta
Is it free during the beta?
Yes. Everything is free for the duration of the selective beta, and there is no card required to join the waitlist. We will give beta members plenty of notice before anything changes.
How do I request access?
Use any Join the waitlist button on the site. It deep-links to the portal, where you create your request in a moment. There is no long form to fill in here.
When will I get in?
We invite people in waves and approve accounts by hand, so we cannot promise an exact date. Join the waitlist and we will be in touch as places open. An institutional email tends to move faster.
Do I need an .ac.uk email?
No. An institutional email helps us verify you and invite you sooner, but it is optional. A personal email is completely fine, you may just wait a little longer for a place.
The product
Which professions is it for?
Each profession gets its own track: a recall syllabus and prescribing scenarios built around that profession's curriculum and registration assessment. We invite professions in waves during the selective beta and add more over time. Tell us your profession when you join, so we can prioritise your track.
What is in a track?
A track combines spaced-repetition recall cards, a browsable clinical syllabus with mastery tracking, simulated consultation scenarios in difficulty tiers, and the analytics, streaks, and leaderboards that keep you coming back. All of it is mapped to your profession's curriculum.
How is it different from Anki?
Anki drills raw recall in isolation. Scripter Academy uses the same spaced-repetition rigour but is built around your curriculum, tells you what to study next, puts you in front of a simulated patient, tracks your mastery per topic, and lets you compete with friends and your cohort. Recall is the start, not the whole thing.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It is designed mobile-first for studying in short fragments, on a commute, between lectures, or in bed, and it works just as well on a laptop.
Safety and trust
Can anything I do affect a real patient?
No, never. Every patient is simulated and every script you write is watermarked Practice mode. You practise on the same clinical platform real prescribers use, but it is fully sandboxed. Make mistakes freely, that is exactly what it is for.
Who is behind Scripter Academy?
Scripter Academy is the student-facing sibling of Scripter Digital, a real UK clinical prescribing platform. That lineage is why the practice feels real and why the safety model is taken seriously.
